Eric Shane

Eric Shane is a trial attorney who concentrates his practice on representing individuals who have suffered severe or catastrophic injuries in complex personal injury matters including premises liability cases, negligent security cases, automobile and trucking accidents, and maritime cases such as cruise ship negligence and personal watercraft accidents.

Mr. Shane has dedicated his career to zealously representing his clients, aiming to achieve justice for the damages they have suffered and enact meaningful change to prevent similar tragedies from occurring in the future. It is because of these efforts that he has earned a reputation as a creative, compassionate, and dedicated attorney who tirelessly strives to obtain the best possible results for those he represents.

Since becoming a part of the Leesfield & Partners team, Mr. Shane has spent a considerable amount of time representing individuals and grieving families in premises liability matters such as a multi-million-dollar settlement obtained for a client who was electrocuted, a substantial recovery for a client who was exposed to flesh-eating bacteria, and countless recoveries obtained on behalf of Legionnaires’ disease victims. In 2025, Mr. Shane secured what is believed to be the largest recovery ever obtained on behalf of a single plaintiff in a Legionnaires’ disease case in U.S. history.

Mr. Shane’s experience and involvement in high-profile cases have allowed for his appearance on several national news media outlets providing legal commentary and analysis for the likes of ABC’s 20/20 and ABC News with Diane Sawyer.

Mr. Shane is a native of South Florida and earned his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law. While in law school, Mr. Shane was elected Articles and Comments Editor of the University of Miami Business Law Review. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Shane graduated from Florida State University.
