Tom Scolaro is a partner in the firm and experienced trial lawyer. He has tried many cases resulting in multi-million dollar verdicts for his clients including the largest personal injury verdict in Monroe County history. In that case, Mr. Scolaro obtained a $40.5 million dollar verdict for the victim of an assault in a hotel parking garage. Mr. Scolaro handles all types of complex liability and severe injury cases in all courts throughout Florida. He is a national recognized leader in negligent security cases and advocate for civil justice for crime victims.
Mr. Scolaro has been selected by both the South Florida Legal Guide and Florida Trend Legal elite as a top up and coming lawyer since 2005. He has also advocated and helped pass legislation that now requires any new construction of hotels and resorts with boilers in Florida to now have carbon monoxide detectors. Mr. Scolaro and LLP pursued this legislation after 25 clients who were unsuspecting tourists of the Grand Key Resort suffered carbon monoxide poisoning emanating from the hotel’s boiler system.
